Tick After-Bite Tincture

Here on the Farm, we are completely immersed in the Natural World around us. The bulk of our waking hours are spent outdoors. And with that reality, comes the necessity to learn how to work within our environment.

Ticks bites are an inevitable occurrence. Treating them quickly and effectively is vital for us. And because of that, I’ve studied the writings of Buhner on Lyme Disease and have sourced the freshest herbs to craft our Tick After-Bite Tincture.

Both Andrographis and Japanese Knotweed hold powerful anti-spirochete, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-parasitic properties. And as Buhner writes, when applied topically to a tick bite, they may reduce transmission of disease by 85%!

We use this tincture mixed in with a bit (1/4-1/2 tsp.) bentonite clay (for its drawing properties), to form a paste, and apply it to the bite immediately after removing the tick. We reapply as needed to keep the paste on the skin for at least 24 hrs. We also use this tincture to cleanse the area after the bite.
